WP Cerber Security 9.6

We continue to improve and implement new features for our two-factor authentication mechanism. This version of WP Cerber introduces additional privacy-related settings for 2FA emails as well as multiple code optimizations and improvements.

New settings for two-factor authentication emails

Now, you can control the amount of sign-in attempt details that are shown in 2FA email messages. You can also disable this section completely. You can have individual 2FA configuration for each role on your WordPress and configure per-user settings as well. These new features and settings are available in the professional version of WP Cerber.

Introducing a “Login Security” section on the user edit page

With new 2FA settings on the user edit page, you can configure two-factor authentication on a per-user basis. This enhancement provides the flexibility for each user to have unique 2FA settings and their own email address for receiving 2FA codes.

Minor changes

  • Improved: added a new activity log status, “Access denied by plugin settings.” This status indicates when a request is denied based on the WP Cerber configuration settings.
  • Breaking changes: the feature to use a separate user email address for receiving 2FA codes is available in the professional version of WP Cerber only.

Fixed bugs

  • A fatal PHP error occurs when “Data Shield” is enabled, and a plugin tries to change WordPress settings without loading pluggable PHP functions: “Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /wp-cerber/cerber-common.php:1820”
