WP Cerber Security 1.0

WP Cerber Security is a brand new WordPress security plugin. It is created as a better alternative to Limit Login Attempts plugin that worked fine for many of my client’s sites for years. But for now Limit Login Attempts is obsolete.

How does WP Cerber protect WordPress?

By default, WordPress allows unlimited login attempts either through the login form or by sending special cookies. This allows passwords to be cracked with relative ease via brute force attack.

WP Cerber blocks remote side by IP or subnet from making further attempts after a specified limit on retries is reached, making a brute-force attack impossible.

You will be able to create Black  Access List or White Access List to block or allow login from particular IPs.

Moreover, you can create your custom login page and forget about automatic attacks to the default wp-login.php, which consume your attention and a lot of server resources. If an attacker tries to access wp-login.php, it gets 404 Error response.

WP Cerber tracks time stamp, IP addresses and usernames for successful and failed login attempts, logouts, password changes, and actions taken by WP Cerber.

I am passionate about building great and neat solutions so, please, write your review or even five-star rate here.

What does “Cerber” means?

This is a contraction from Cerberus. In Greek and Roman mythology, Cerberus is a multi-headed dog with a serpent’s tail, a mane of snakes, and a lion’s claws. Nobody can bypass that angry dog. Now you can order WP Cerber to guard the entrance to your website.
